PRESIDIANS SHOWCASE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF THE THEME ‘TRAVEL’

13-02-2019

Theme Based Learning (TBL) is a powerful instructional method that makes concepts easy to comprehend.  It uses real life experiences in such a manner, that children easily immerse themselves in learning. Each theme ends with culmination, in which children showcase their learning to their parents, teachers or classmates.  Students of grade 2, recently culminated the theme 'Travel'. They demonstrated their understanding of the various concepts covered  under this theme; such as essential things for travelling, various purposes of travel, information òn tickets, different modes of transport etc. They shared their experience of various visits and journeys. This theme gave them an opportunity to recall their journey and events that happened while travelling.  Students were able to build the understanding that the cost of tickets, facilities offered distance and time taken are the factors that influence the means and modes of travel. Students culminated this theme by showing their photo albums to their friends, making a collage, drawing their dream vehicle and shared about with it in the class.
