ENROUTE TO THE WORLD OF SHAPES WITH RANGOMETRY ACTIVITY!

Shapes are the foundation of most images all around. Learning to identify and understand what the different shapes are, as well as their parts are important concepts, as a strong understanding of shapes is vital for learning more complex geometry concepts later. Thus, we recently conducted  an activity wherein our confident Presidians used basic shapes of Rangometry kit to make animals,  birds, pizza, flower and sun.  Some of them created beautiful  sceneries having trees, leaves, rocks, houses through shapes of all sorts of mathematical patterns. The learning experience was interesting and joyful as the students were so excited to create something innovative, unique and explored the world of shapes.

PRESIDIANS SLOGANEER ‘CLEAN EARTH, GREEN EARTH’ ON EARTH DAY

THE EARTH IS IN OUR HANDS
To acquaint our Presidians with this facet of life Dwarka 6 organised a special assembly on EARTH DAY. Our aspiring anchors unveiled the programme with the Thought of the Day stating "Plant a tree today, make the life of earth much longer". Our confident students gave motivational speeches and sang Earth day rhymes. Grade 3 students also showcased a theatre act on ‘Clean Earth, Green Earth’. The tiny tots of nursery gave a heart touching performance on saving trees.The assembly concluded with an oath ceremony wherein the Presidians recited -  "Earth is our home so it is our duty to keep it clean and green. To make it clean we will not litter anywhere. To make it green we will plant a tree. The earth is what we all have in common".

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE EASTER WITH A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

Easter is the symbol of hope, renewal and new life. It is the time to rejoice and be thankful for the gifts of life, love and joy. Easter is celebrated by Christian fraternity to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ. To commemorate the goodness of Jesus Christ and his will of doing good deeds for humanity, Easter Assembly was observed in Presidium. Our little Presidians of grade Nursery were dressed up as Bunnies and began the celebration with the Easter Parade. Students enthralled everyone with their beautiful dance moves. The cherry on the cake was the musical choir on the song EK TU HI BHAROSA. Grade 2 students enjoyed egg hunt activity in  the garden area.

BLOCK ACTIVITY: PRESIDIANS LEARN THE CONCEPT OF ‘MORE OR LESS’

The students of grade 1 were engaged in their Maths class to compare the number of objects in two groups i.e. more or less. To compare items words like greater than, less than, or equal to were used. Building with blocks provides one of the most valuable learning experiences available for young children. Block play stimulates learning in all  domains of development, intellectual, physical, socio emotional and language. Children were given blocks and were told to make towers using them to show more and less. They also made Alphabets using blocks and showed that small alphabets need less blocks and big alphabets need more blocks. Presidians were able to compare on the basis of their quantity. The creative blend of the students was appreciated while doing the activity.

PRESIDIAN CREATE MINI PUNJAB ON THE OCCASION OF BAISAKHI!

The vibrant festival of Baisakhi contemplates to be of  paramount importance in  India for varied reasons. Apart from its vital importance for farmers it also marks the beginning of Khalsa panth of the Sikh religion and beginning of The Hindu New Year. The look and feel of the school premises was that of Mini Punjabi. The school atrium echoed the tunes of Punjabi Folk songs. Our young presidians fascinated the audience with their Bhangra and Gidda performances. Students also shared the Importance of the festival. The electrifying looks of our presidians left the audience spellbound.  The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with zeal and zest at Presidium Dwarka 6.

PRESIDIANS ENHANCE THEIR GROSS MOTOR SKILL WITH A MAZE ACTIVITY

Creativity is thinking new things. Innovation is doing new things. Keeping this in mind our facilitators designed a creative and innovative activity for the students of Nursery, the Maze activity. Maze is an excellent vehicle to encourage pre -writing skills and gross motor development. It also enhances planning, eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills and drawing skills. Our Presidians exhibited their skills by helping Riya and her grandmother reach their home while walking on the path when it started raining. A huge maze was created on the floor which suffice our methodology of experiential learning wherein the students walked through the passage and solved the maze. Later a worksheet related to the activity was done by the  students in their curriculum book.

MOTIVATING STUDENTS TO ADOPT HEALTHY HABITS ON WORLD HEALTH DAY!

Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. To ensure overall development of the students, Presidium Dwarka 6 celebrated World Health Day with a special assembly. Pupils of each grade showed intense eagerness and enjoyment in conducting the presentation and gave marvelous performances. The students were sensitised to imbibe good eating habits and regular exercise. The students enthralled the atrium with their energetic participation in yoga session and zumba session.

A FUN FILLED WELCOME TO OUR YOUNG LEADERS OF TOMORRO

The first day of school is that time of the year when the hearts are filled with the amalgamation of happiness,cheerfulness,anxiousness and excitement. Following the Indian rituals our little Presidians were given a warm welcome by putting a tika on their forehead, as they walked in. The day started off with positivity,energy and enthusiasm. The physical zone was created at the arrival gate leading towards the atrium, wherein the students have to cross the hurdles, jump through the hooplas and balancing on the beam. The teachers were seen making students comfortable and cozy in their classrooms. Everyone was feeling excited and felt glad to meet their old friends, new teachers and a new schedule. The school atrium was divided into four zones, Prop corner, Selfie corner, Maze corner and Tic Tac Toe corner. Moving on the footsteps the students have to choose the corner of their choice and enjoy that activity.  Later the students giggled around as the Magician showed some funny and hilarious tricks.The children danced together on the beats reminding all that school is fun. As the school bells start ringing let us look forward for a bright year ahead and make it productive and inspiring for our children.

TECH SAVVY STUDENTS OF PRESIDIUM SHOWCASE THEIR COMPUTER SKILLS!

‘Technology is just a tool. in terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important – Bill Gates.
In this era of technology, computers play a very important role in our lives. The uses of Computers and Internet are growing day by day. So we, at Presidium Dwarka 6 facilitate first-hand experience on Computers through ICT as the main subject i.e. ‘Information and Communication Technology’. During the culmination of ICT, students explored their creativity and imagination by making drawings, posters and greeting cards in Tux-Paint. Students exhibited their computer skills by Formatting the text, Alignment of text, Inserting the picture and Cut, Copy, Paste options in Wordpad. They also made wonderful drawings in MS Paint. Overall the objective of the Culmination proved very fruitful.

YOUNG ACTORS ENTHRALL EVERYONE IN ROLE PLAY COMPETITION!

Role play helps children develop their cognitive abilities as it involves thinking, learning, communication and presenting oneself through using their vision. It also stimulates child's creativity as they take on a role for a new character and interact with different props thus enhancing their confidence. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Dwarka Sector 6 organized a Role Play Competition for the young leaders of tomorrow providing them with an opportunity to learn more about their role models and superheroes. The competition gave them an opportunity to act out that character as per their comprehension in a realm of possibility. Enthusiastic participants dressed up beautifully as famous historical characters, political leaders, Fairies and superheroes, mesmerizing everyone with their impressive enactments.
