PRESIDIANS SAY NO TO CHILD LABOR WITH SPECIAL ASSEMBLY!

12-06-2021

"THERE IS NO REASON. THERE IS NO EXCUSE. CHILD LABOUR IS CHILD ABUSE."
With this theme, Presidium observed World Day Against Child Labour Day. Our Presidians were sensitized towards the topic and were made aware that imposing a child to do a job during this tender age is a crime, and those who impose children to do such jobs are criminals. World Day Against Child Labour, which is held every year on June 12, is intended to foster the worldwide movement against child labour. The day aims to throw light on the problem of child labour, and to elevate awareness about the plight of child labours worldwide and the action and efforts needed to banish it. The special assembly was conducted by the students of grades 2 & 3.

Every year on May 11th, India commemorates the National Technology Day to mark the anniversary of Shakti, the Pokhran nuclear test, which was held on that date in 1998. Very few countries worldwide have nuclear power, and India had become one of those elite players and became the sixth nation to join the nuclear club. The day also celebrates the importance of science in everyday life and encourages students to pursue science as a profession. Presidium held a special assembly on National Technology Day to inspire students about the significance of this day. A PowerPoint presentation was shown to acquaint pupils with the facts and information about the glorified role of technology in making our life easier and faster, and informed. Our Young scholars participated and discussed the huge role that technology plays in our everyday lives, like doing our jobs, going anywhere, keeping us healthy, to communicate with people who live far away. A DAY DEDICATED TO MAGNANIMOUS MOTHERS

09-05-2021
It is rightly said that a mother is someone who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take. A mother's love is always unconditional and pure for her children. To honour the love of all the mothers and pay tribute for everything they do assiduously for their children, Presidians organised a special assembly on Mother's Day to bring a smile on their beloved mothers’ faces. Children exhibited deep love and affection through their songs, dances and poems. They also made handmade gifts to express their love and respect for them. It was a day filled with gratitude and appreciation for the mothers by their little ones with full gaiety and ardour.

LEARNING WITH SHADOWS

06-05-2021

“The shadow is the greatest teacher for how to come to the light.” Ram Dass
Learning by doing is the model that the facilitators at Presidium follow to make Presidians learn the concept in an interesting way. Presidians learnt the concept of shadow in a fun filled engagement, wherein the teacher introduced various techniques of tracing the image with the help of shadow. The idea behind teaching the concept was to create new knowledge, develop feelings and emotions, and enhance physical and manual skills. The learners carried out an experiment to observe how a shadow’s size changes when the distances between the objects and its light source is altered. The children beautifully depicted their drawing and left everyone awestruck with their creations.
