Presidium organized a Talent Hunt Competition for Grade IV students. The purpose of the event was to explore students' latent talents and inculcate the values of discipline among them. Lockdown didn't discourage our students from participating enthusiastically in the competition and mesmerized audiences with their skills and abilities in the fields of music, dance, drama, and arts. The participants mesmerized the audience with their lilting voice, rhythmic moves, and singing expertise. It was an experience of tremendous admiration and worth appreciating.
The festival of lights came alive at Presidium when the whole virtual platform wore a festive look with teachers, students, and parents' collaborative efforts. Diwali Celebration illuminated everyone's heart with joy and fervor. During the morning assembly, students talked about the significance of the festival, how good always conquers evil, and why and how Diwali is celebrated. An inspiring skit was also dramatized to apprise the students about the hazardous effects of bursting crackers. The celebrations comprised a bunch of exhilarating activities for the students. Students made elegant lanterns and colourful rangoli designs and diyas to illuminate and ignite the festival's essence.
To celebrate the spirit of tourism and reflect on tourism's importance to global well-being, Presidium celebrated World Tourism Day under the theme Tourism and Rural Development. Students of Grade -3 presented the virtual assembly intending to show different cultures. The students beautifully dressed up in their state's traditional attire left no stone unturned to showcase the culture, traditions, and geographical features of their states. The students spoke about the state they were representing. Our proud Presidians took an opportunity to address how tourism can provide jobs and economic empowerment outside of big cities. They highlighted the vital role tourism plays in preserving and promoting culture and heritage all around the world.
Nature has bestowed us with profuse creatures like animals, birds, trees, flowers, etc. Every critter has a vital role or implication in the environment; Insects are one of them. With the ongoing theme - “Insects” under the subject TBL our students of Grade 2 demonstrated their learning and understanding of the theme through various activities being conducted in the class, such as ladybird & clapper-making activity information about the insects, and creating picture collages, etc. Students were introduced to English and Hindi names of insects, food eaten by them, and where they live. Features of different insects were also introduced to them. Students learned about a variety of insects, including both harmful and harmless insects.
The International Day for the preservation of the ozone layer is observed on 16th September every year since 1995. At Presidium, students of Grade- 3 celebrated World Ozone Day with the view of creating awareness and sensitizing the students on the importance of the Ozone layer. Students actively participated by wearing green clothes, making colourful posters, and shouting slogans like "Earth without ozone, is like a house without a roof." Through the virtual assembly, the students were given the importance of the Ozone layer and its impact on Earth's forms of life. Presidians highlighted the importance of the day and students' role in contributing to protecting and preventing the Ozone layer from depletion. Further, to mark the day's significance, pupils were involved in various activities such as slogan writing, Speeches, PowerPoint presentation, Quiz, etc. Our young learners designed amazing posters in which the simple ways of protecting the ozone layer were depicted.
To commemorate the memory of Sir Mokshaygundam Visvesvaragya, who had contributed to the field of Hydro- Energy in India, Engineer's Day is celebrated. He is held with high regard as a pre-eminent engineer in India. The students of Presidium celebrated engineers day or e-day to give tribute to the nation's greatest Engineering Father on Engineer's Day. The students were driven by the fact that Engineer's are the ones who can build, run, power, program, and gadgetize the world. The students were involved in various fun-filled activities, and they participated enthusiastically with their lego boards, blocks, and Mechanix Games. They used all these to create their innovative structures.
